Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Chapter & Fable retreat?
A weekend escape designed around books, beautiful surroundings, delicious food and time to properly switch off. Expect reading time, thoughtfully planned activities, shared meals and plenty of opportunity to read!
Who are the retreats for?
Our retreats are for women who love the idea of escaping everyday life for a few days. Whether you’re a lifelong bookworm, a romance or fantasy devotee or simply someone who loves getting lost in a good story, you’re very welcome here.
Do I have to participate in everything?
Absolutely not. This is your escape. Join the activities, curl up with your book, take a walk, have a nap. Whatever makes the weekend feel like yours.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! Making sure our reading retreats are accessible to everyone is our top priority. You can secure your place by paying your deposit and then the rest by monthly installments.
Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. In fact, we’d love you to! Many guests may arrive not knowing anyone, and the retreats are designed to make meeting people feel natural and comfortable. There will also be an opportunity to be part of a group chat before the retreat should you wish to.
Can I come with a friend?
Of course! You can book together and, where available, choose to share a room or have your own private rooms.
Are there age restrictions?
You have to be 18+ to attend a Chapter & Fable retreat.
Do I need to read a particular book?
No homework required! Although for some of our retreats we may suggest particular books or themes, we don’t want anyone to have any pressure to read a certain amount or a certain book.
Are the retreats accessible?
Due to the nature of the venues being in historical houses, we can only offer limited accessible accommodation. Please get in touch if this is something you might require.
Still have questions?
We’d love to hear from you. If there’s something we’ve not covered, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
